Erosion Control

Erosion Control

Environmental Safety Services, Inc installs different types of erosion control systems including Silt Fence, Rock Filter Dams, Seeding, Hydromulching, Turf Mats, Topsoil/Compost and Stone Rip Rap.

Silt Fence

A temporary sediment control device used on construction sites to protect water quality in nearby streams, rivers, lakes and seas from sediment (loose soil) in storm water runoff.

Rock Filter Dam

A rock dam constructed across a drainage way, swale or road ditch to slow the speed of runoff water and enable eroded silt to drop and accumulate.

Seeding

Seeding

Seeding

Application of native and/or non native grass seed mixes to exposed soil, grasses take root and prevent soil erosion.

Hydromulching

Application of grass/plant seeds with use of a mulch and water mixture sprayed from a truck/trailer.

Turf Mats

3‐dimensional temporary or permanent mat that provides a matrix to reinforce plant  root systems and prevent soil erosion.

Compost

A nutrient dense material applied to disturbed earth that lack topsoil.  Provides protection against erosion control and as a nutrient for plants and/or plant seeds.

Stone Rip Rap

Crushed stone or recycled concrete used to armor shorelines, streambeds, bridge abutments, ect from scour and erosion caused by moving water, waves or wind.
